In the fast-moving world of crypto, challenges can arise when least expected. Purple project, one of the leading meme projects on Ink, recently faced a sudden suspension of their X (Twitter) account—a situation that caught both the team and the community off guard. But instead of waiting for a resolution, the team turned adversity into an opportunity, proving that nothing can kill Purple.

In this interview, we dive into what happened, how Purple fought back, and what’s next for this resilient project.

Interview with Purple

It’s time for an interview with the Purple project, because yesterday it turned out that X was blocked. I’ll talk to the project’s lead dev about what could have happened and what the next steps are.

MrW: What happened with your X account?

Purple: Out of the blue, X suspended our account alleging “Violating our rules against authenticity”. We were genuinely caught off guard by this suspension and immediately filed an appeal. There we easily prove we are the authentic Purple project by using our coingecko listing. This keep us optimistic 😉

Shortly after, we created two X backup accounts and both got shadow banned after a bit even if they were created by different team members. As always we keep our positive and constructive vibe but the only thing we can think of is that we were victims of a massive bot report attack. We guess ink is starting to be big enough for these things, and while that’s exciting, we advise all Ink projects to stay cautious from now on.

We have only done organic growth because that is our style and forever will be. We believe that everyone that has followed us for a bit has zero doubts about this. At the moment of the suspension we had more than 550 followers.

We are incredibly proud of the ink community given all the support we have received including all the main projects, inkfluencers and Kraken/ink team members. This speaks volumes about ink’s unique nature => ink different.

MrW: So, what’s the solution?

Purple: Instead of waiting for X to restore our account, we pivoted and launched several initiatives to turn this setback into a comeback:

1. @0xInkWizard is now $PURPLE voice: All the posts and replies from the OG inkfluencer come now directly from Purple Team. Basically if you follow him it is the same as following our old account until we get it restored. We’ve gone above and beyond to ensure our upcoming content is nothing short of top-notch.
2. We have created a Farcaster account and channel: Guided by @inkonchain Discord missions, we have now presence on the purple decentralized version of X. This bump in the road has truly underscored its importance, and moving forward, we’re committed to being just as active there.
3. We found support on our strong Telegram channel: with more than 550 followers this was our best speaker to our community when we started fighting in the trenches. Our Purples rallied behind us from day one, spreading the news of what happened and educating the entire Ink community on the countermeasures we set in motion. 4. Purple Club a new X community: we also launched a new community here following the path open by other ink projects. It already has over 50 members and we are having good fun with it. Also link on Wizard’s bio.

The worst part of this crisis has now passed. Given that we have now Ink Purple Wizard as our X voice with more than 270 followers much more than the average ink project, all the other measures we have taken and several ink friends like MrW here that have helped us reach the ink community on their own accounts. You know who you are, we are eternally grateful for your support, and we promise to give back in the future.

MrW: How is Purple Team holding up?

Purple: Nothing can kill Purple. Of course it has been a stressful time for us but this has only united us more and made us stronger. We have zero doubts of the potential of this project and how quick ink will claim its spot among the top chains. We know what we have to do to create the best marketing ink could have to accelerate its growth and that is our main focus. For sure, we are also excited to have this opportunity to know clearly the path that we need to take to be listed on Kraken. We are grateful to be navigating these extraordinary circumstances (nk’s emergence as a Kraken chain amid new, pro-crypto regulations) and will continue working tirelessly until we achieve this goal.

Purple: The future is bright and Purple. We’ll continue embracing the cypherpunk values that Ink inspires every day, building relentlessly to make this chain bigger and better. One of our devs is hard at work on our first on-chain Purple Surprise, set to launch in the coming weeks, and we’re also cooking up an off-chain Purple Surprise that will drop soon.

The Ink Purple Profile Wave continues growing as well as the Purple Goals, our partners are working on their last final purple details that will make ink even more Purple. Purple Goal #2 will come shortly after that.
